"Putting a couple sessions together. He continues to improve in his math skills. He has been working on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals. Division seemed to be the biggest challenge, but I showed him a technique to solve it and it became much easier for him. Last week, he was preparing for a quiz the next day. That short session went well, also."
"Quadratics were covered today. I explained the procedure to solve quadratics by factoring, quadratic formula, and using the graphing calculator. I also gave the student tips to manipulate equations so that she is more comfortable with them. I'm looking forward to working with her again."
"Quadratics, square roots, completing the square, and finding roots were covered specifically. Student struggled most with radicals. Student was engaged in problem solving and asked questions. Included the strategy of squaring both sides to get rid of a radical within an equation. Student is more familiarized with quadratics than at the start of the session."
"Related rates of areas of circles and spheres. How to manipulate standard formulas to solve for missing variables. Both parties had difficulty finishing a particular problem dealing with non-right isosceles triangle."
