Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, I went through proofs involving quadrilaterals with the student. I proved that the opposite sides of parallelograms are congruent and parallel. I also proved that the diagonals of parallelograms bisect each other and that their opposite angles are congruent. I proved that the diagonals of rhombuses are perpendicular. Finally, I derived the area of rhombuses and parallelograms. At the end of our session, I gave the student practice finding angles, side lengths, and areas of rhombuses and parallelograms."
"Today, the student and I finished chapter 9, which is about the law of sines and cosines. He had some trouble with the new material, but we went over it a few times until he had it down."
"Today, the student and I worked on tangent, secants, finding area of shapes in graphs, and intro to proofs. He was very enthusiastic to learn the new concepts. We are starting to learn how to notice what concepts are being asked in a problem. I left about 60 problems for him to do. I will send a link to start reading."
"Today, we began looking at transformations. The student was able to finish the work on translations and complete all of the practice problems. We then began work with reflections and will complete those tomorrow before moving to rotations."
"Today, we began working in chapter 4 of the online Geometry textbook. We looked at the types of triangles and how they can be identified by their angle measurements and side lengths. We worked on exercises to classify triangles and applications of classifying triangles by using the distance formula. Lastly, we examined how to prove triangles are congruent using SSS, SAS, ASA, and AAS."
"Today, we continued going over proofs. We also continued going over the Geometry assessment exam Practice Test. I told him to finish the PT as homework."
