Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Caught up with past assignments on electrical circuits and power. Looked at some pre-calculus topics on geometric and arithmetic series."
"The student had missed a few days of school and needed to make up homework assignments. He made up those homework assignments that covered subjects on reflection and refraction."
"The student and I started covering Newton's laws especially as they relate to multiple block problems. We talked about F = ma, the idea of inertia and also how to determine action reaction pairs."
"We have completed the review questions that the physics teacher prepared for students to prepare for the upcoming test. Problems included one on calculating the tension in the string that is connecting the helicopter and a car when both are being accelerated upwards. Another problem had to do with calculating force of tension in a string that holds an object rotating with a constant speed in a vertical circle. Yet another problem investigated normal force during the athlete's vertical jump. The student is well versed in solving such problems and should do well on the exam."
"We worked on the photoelectric effect, including the stopping potential and the work function. We also worked on special relativity, including time dilation, length contraction, and the Lorentz transformations."
"We reviewed for a test on energy, and the student had some practice problems. We went through them slowly, and she was briefly hung up on the fact that doubling the speed quadruples the kinetic energy. As we went through the problems, she became more comfortable with these concepts."
