"The student and I went over his homework on parallel lines. He did a good job setting up the problem and solving them. He forgot some of the algebra concepts of solving systems of equations, which he said he haven't done in a long time. So once we finished the homework, we did some review of the algebra concepts that he would need to solve the geometry problems, like system of equations. We went over solving the system by elimination and substitution and he did a great job with both of them. We stopped once I found he was comfortable doing them and remembered the steps. We then finished things off with proving whether the lines are parallel using converse theorems. He said he didn't go over them yet, but I just wanted to give a little preview so that he understands it better when he learns it. We then went over practice problems with parallel lines and he did a good job. There were no areas where I find him struggling, and he understood the concepts very well."
"The student and I went over his notes on Sections 5-5 and 5-6. He needs to work on learning the new factoring methods, but we practiced them and got a head start on his homework. He was having some difficulty with u-substitution at first, but was doing it correctly by the end of the session. He also expressed confusion about factoring using the remainder theorem, but after going over his notes and some practice problems, he understood it."
"The student and I went over inscribing squares, hexagons, and equilateral triangles in circles. We also reviewed using a compass to copy line segments and angles and draw perpendicular bisectors. We also went over parallelograms in preparation for her test tomorrow. She seems to be comfortable with the material and wasn't confused when approaching the problems."
"The student and I went over proofs on her last test that she was unsure about, and then she moved onto today's homework for on proofs for theorem 16. She plans to work through lesson 48 by Friday, which is on unequal lines and angles."
"The student and I went over protractor use and the opposite, adjacent, and hypotenuse sides of right triangles. Looking forward, we'll be going over sine and cosine. His grades have gone way up, so that's positive!"
"The student and I went over review for her chapter test tomorrow. She is doing well; however, I do recommend that she revisits the review exercises at least one more time before her test."
