There was one portion of the material on which the student will be asking his instructor for clarification. Overall, this was a very successful session."
"Today the student and I looked at some basic concepts in differentiation, including the power, product, quotient, and chain rules. We also talked about velocity and acceleration as first and second derivatives of position. We also moved into territory he has not covered yet, including trigonometric derivatives. He is comfortable with the material presented so far."
"Today the student and I worked on a variety of mathematical topics. We started with integrating even exponents of sinx and cosx using the power reducing equations. Then, we worked on the mean value theorem, Rolle's theorem, and even and odd composite functions and integrals."
"Today we covered a variety of problems from the student's final review. These included topics such as continuous compounding interest, average value of a function, derivatives, and inversely related functions. She isn't struggling too much in any one area, but she just needed some help remember things she's forgotten here and there. On most of the problems, once I got her through the trickiest part, she went ahead and finished on her own. She has a great attitude toward learning the material, and I think she's in a good position to do well on her final exam."
"Today we covered setting up integrals and finding the area between two curves. We also looked into how to find areas underneath curves using geometry, or to find the path of a function using only its derivative."
