Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I discussed his last quiz in depth. We then talked about the current topic in class, on parametric equations. I also took this time to try and help him make sense of his math book. I left him with a couple of worksheets on exponents and radicals."
"Today was my first tutoring session with the student. We went over her homework for today, which was an assignment on integrals and finding the area between two curves. She asked for some help with integrals, so we started with a course on that. Afterward, I walked her through the first few problems I assigned, and she seemed to catch on quite quickly. By the end of the assignment, she was doing the problems entirely on her own, and understood what she was doing. She seems like a strong math student in general. We'll continue to work on her new material."
"Today I had a session with the student covering algebra topics. We worked specifically on factoring large polynomials using synthetic substitution. We will do more practice and work on notes to tackle additional questions."
"I covered with the student's sketching graphs of rational functions; finding vertical and horizontal asymptotes; solving direct, inverse, and joint variation problems."
"The student and I worked on factoring. He is really good at it so far. We finished a little early, so I gave him an extra lesson to teach him that fractions are much easier than decimals."
"It was an introductory session. We discussed class and assignments, obtained teacher material, reviewed long division, and completed subtraction problems."
