Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, the student and I went through his current homework assignments and I clarified for him the grammar points that were being covered. Looking ahead, I also introduced the student to the new grammar that he would be covering over the next week. This way he will have a better understanding of the grammatical concept when it is introduced by his teacher. He has made tremendous progress since I began working with him. He is becoming much more independent and is able to do most of the work on his own. It was an excellent session."
"Today we went over several online assignments that the student had. We went over the uses of present tense versus past tense verbs as well as the uses of personal pronouns (my, their, me, you, etc.). For the next session I plan on bringing in a reference chart so that way she can quickly determine in which context she can use each pronoun."
"We covered the 'se' impersonal and using 'se' for unplanned events today. Everything was a breeze for the student, and she has a good grasp on the material we covered. She is a quick learner!"
"The informal commands were covered today. He learned new vocabulary related to clothing and accessories. He practiced writing and listening comprehension. His pronunciation is excellent. This session lasted just one hour."
"The student and I reviewed content for a test he has tomorrow. I made him a practice test which he worked on, and we went over together to review any misconceptions. He did well. He now has much better understanding of irregular forms in the future and conditional. We also reviewed the difference between comparatives one more time."
"The student and I revised her homework on the present and past tense sentences. I encouraged her to use the words and verbs that we have studied. We studied "The Vegetables" in Spanish and played a guessing game with new adjectives to describe the veggie. Finally, she completed an exercise on telling time and on ordinal numbers. She did pretty well. Her homework for next class is to complete a printed exercise on regular verbs and write 4 descriptions of 2 fruits and 2 veggies with the adjectives taught."
