"In this session, I helped the student prepare for an exam on Newton's laws and work/energy. We spent a lot of time going through problems pertaining to circular motion, as those were the ones he had the most trouble with. He seemed to have a breakthrough with it by the end. The last part of our session, we focused on work and energy. I showed him how the conservation of mechanical energy equation can be used to solve a large number of problems. We then went into detail about the difference between conservative and nonconservative forces and how the work done by a non-conservative force is equal to change in kinetic energy of the system. I left him with hints on when to use certain equations and keywords to look for to help determine when to use them."
