Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I worked on using integration to solve for the area between different graphs. He did not struggle with the material, and had a positive attitude throughout the session. I included strategies to simplify complex solutions and convey certain concepts."
"Today was a test prep day. We went over the student's material on the organelles, properties of the lipid bilayer, and cell signal transport. I explained in detail some of the concepts she was having a bit of trouble understanding. We concluded by going over some sample questions, on which she did rather well. Some of the questions were designed to trick her but she did well not to get caught up in the noise. She should do well on this next exam."
"Today was all prep for the student's exam. Most of the material was organic chemistry, but I was able to help her with all of her questions. I helped clear up what she was unsure about, and then I found her some nomenclature problems to further practice on."
"Today was my first session with the student. She is very smart and was able to understand the material very quickly. In today's session, we had a brief overview of balancing chemical equations. After several examples, she was able to successfully do problems on her own. Next, we worked on the charges on ions and how to determine the charge on transition metals! She did well with this material. Overall, she understood everything."
"Today was my first session with the student. We worked on a chemistry worksheet on characteristics of metals, nonmetals, and ionic compounds. We also went over domain and range of functions, as well as finding the inverse of a function."
"Today was our final session before his chemistry final exam. We covered his test 3 for about 90 minutes, and I helped him understand the questions that he was guessing on. There were a couple charts/tables he simply needed to memorize and I gave him some useful techniques for that. After completing his test 3, we spent the rest of our session working on any and every problem that he felt unsure about, these questions came from his friend's old exams, and also old homework of his. I feel if he continues working out the practice problems and scanning through old homework, he will succeed in his class/final exam."
