Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I took a look into his class project for Spanish; in short, the assignment involved constructing sentences in a two part sequence: one part using the preterit tense, the other in the imperfect tense. Since the project was dense, we began on the preterit sequences, which went well, as constructing the sentences allowed the student to practice with newly learned tenses, while I was able to answer necessary questions and introduce him to new vocabulary. In the middle, we took a mental break and watched a video in Spanish. Overall, the session went well, with the student holding a solid A in his Spanish class. He, his parents, and I were more than satisfied with his tremendous progress."
"Tonight was my first lesson with this student. I met his parents first and they were very nice. I went over some study skills with him as well as some detailed questions pertaining to Spanish. We are scheduled weekly for Monday nights."
"The student and I discussed her goals and expectations for the following sessions and also did a small Spanish assessment to see where her skills were. She seems to have a good grasp on the basics, but she told me that she would like to improve her ability to write in Spanish as her tests are mostly short answer and essay based. We are going to focus on grammar and sentence structure during the sessions, and we will incorporate her chapter vocabulary into what we do each week. I was very pleased with how our first session went and am looking forward to next week."
