# Range (of Data)

The range of a set of numerical data is the difference between the highest value and the lowest value.

Example:

Suppose the test scores in a class are:

$37,45,55,61,63,77,80,82,86,86,88,88,89,91,93,97$

The highest score is $97$ , and the lowest score is $37$ . So the range of the data is

$97-37=60$ .
