Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent the first part of the session getting to know each other- the student showed me the materials he has for class, what he has already learned this year, and what projects he has this semester. We discussed some of his strengths and weaknesses in Spanish and what he would like to accomplish both in Spanish and in general, academically. He was preparing for a vocabulary quiz, so we worked on using the vocabulary in sentences and discussed recall vs. recognition. Finally, we talked briefly about direct object pronouns. Overall he impressed me with his understanding of sentence structure and picked up on the vocab words quickly. I suggested that he make flashcards for some of the words he had more trouble with."
"We covered expresiones del tiempo con 'hacer'. Besides a few conjugation errors, the student is doing excellent! She took the worksheet we completed home to review if needed. She informed me that she has a 103% average!"
"We studied the regular preterite (-ar, -er, -ir), "ser" vs. "estar," and "doler." The student liked working with the preterite, and I used my dry-erase board to write out key concepts."
