Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went through figuring out if a pair of triangles are similar or not. Then we briefly touched on trigonometry where we dealt with sines, cosines, and tangents."
"Today we started reviewing her summer work. We started working through the areas that she had questions on, especially with geometry. I've given her a lot of review work that we will go over in the next session."
"Reviewed for the student's upcoming exam on the subjects of sum and difference angle formulas, double and half angle formulas, and solving trigonometric functions."
"The student has an upcoming geometry test. She completed the first part of it today in school. Tomorrow she has to finish it. It seems like she is struggling with basic geometric concepts such as midpoints and partitions. We went over those concepts specifically asked on her test. I provided examples with different numbers. She learned how to solve the questions and felt confident about finishing the rest of the exam."
"Last night we covered concepts including vertical angles, exterior angles of a triangle, supplementary angles, parallel lines with a transversal, and solving algebraic equations. I also explained the theorems involving corresponding, alternate interior, and alternate exterior angles in relation to parallel lines with transversals. The student seemed to lack confidence in geometry at first, but caught onto the concepts quickly. With practice, I am certain she will be able to greatly improve her class performance. I am looking forward to continuing to work with her!"
"Today's session was spent mostly on reviewing and applying definitions, postulates, and theorems to the student's study guide problems for her test tomorrow. We especially concentrated on proofs, reverse proofs, triangles (e.g., corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent, AAS, SAS, SSA, SSS), and rules of parallel lines intersected by a transversal (e.g., supplementary angles, corresponding angles, etc.). Her strengths are her willingness to learn the material and her desire to do a good job."
