Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student grappled with more complex logic games and exhibited tremendous improvement in her logic-game skills. Her diagramming is efficient and powerful, and she is quite effective in using her diagram to answer the sorts of questions typically asked."
"The student and I talked about her previous experiences with the LSAT, her goals, and what we could work on to improve on her previous score. We then spent the rest of the time working through some online math games and developing her own personal style of attack."
"We covered advanced linear games including: multiple stacks, repeated variable sets, diagramming, side not-laws, the advanced setup drill, the separation principle, and the overlap principle. For homework, 4 linear logic games and 4 advanced linear logic games were assigned."
"The student did really well today. We talked about some of his strengths and weaknesses when it comes to question scope and diagramming questions. He is a quick learner and seemed to intuitively understand the arguments I brought up. We started getting him to try to predict where the question would go and he did well at that. He should continue with that and progress as discussed."
"We talked through a logic game that the student had completed before we met. We then worked through two logic games from the test I sent him last week. We are focusing on effectively creating a diagram before attempting the questions."
"The student and I spent the entire session working on Logic Games. First, I had him work for time on a LG section from preptest 60. He experienced some challenges with this material--a hybrid distribution/ sequencing game--so we spent the remainder of our session reviewing this game type and working through this specific game together. We reviewed various strategies including combining deductions from various questions to save time, using the master sketch effectively, and disproving question stem claims to eliminate answer choices. I was pleased with the progress he made today, and elected to have him redo this particular game several times for extra practice to solidify his understanding of the concepts. I think our biggest win from today was his progress on hybrid type games."
