Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had his first day of classes and had taken some notes. They had reviewed basic algebraic topics, with which he has no issues. His teacher had given a substantial amount of homework. We looked through all these problems to make sure that he fully understood them. He was engaged and attentive during the session."
"The student had just had a quiz over the material from previous session which he felt that he did very well on. The next few classes were focusing on the ACT, so we tackled topics that would be on the test. We covered Right Triangle Trigonometry and the Law of Sines and Cosines. He did very well with the material, and since most of the topics will also be covered in his curriculum, he is more prepared for his class as well!"
"The student had questions from a couple of homework sections that we worked on to start out. Then we discussed 5.4 homework questions. Most of the questions we worked on were integrals. Then we practiced u-substitution in preparation for class the next day."
"The student had run into some problems doing her summer pre-calc review math homework, particularly in solving higher order polynomials. We went over it together and I showed her how to solve these with grouping, and then we worked on a problem from last time involving the integral of a^x, which had been causing some confusion."
"The student has a final exam Wednesday and needed to review questions for it. We went over old tests as requested from his professor. We covered problems he had trouble with and he seemed to have a good grasp over everything once I gave him clues on how to work them. I think he will do well after studying derivative and integration formulas."
"The student has a little bit of a background in Calculus. He took a short intro to calculus course at the community college last semester. We went over very basic concepts like functions, inverses, slope, and derivatives. We practiced derivatives of polynomial functions, mostly just using the power rule."
