"Today the student and I continued covering the preterite tense. We also looked at the imperfect tense and compared/contrasted them. We worked on how the mechanics of conjugating to the preterite/imperfect work and when it is/isn't appropriate to use each. We did some more work with "ser"/"estar" and how these tenses affect their use. We also worked on the subjunctive tense. I assigned her some book work on the subjunctive for the next session."
"We covered the preterit vs. the imperfect tense and new vocabulary. The student picked up quickly on conjugating verbs in the imperfect tense. She reported that she got an "A-" on her final exam."
"The student will have a vocabulary quiz on Monday on the new chapter vocabulary, so we began by practicing the new words, focusing on the few words she was having the most difficulty with. We also previewed some activities they will cover pertaining to commands. This activity reinforced the vocabulary and helped her practice the words in a new context. She was very happy she had received a 94% on her semester final before Christmas break."
