Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we went over the student's GRE quantitative diagnostic test. The topics we covered included averages, fractions, exponent rules, Venn diagrams and probability. She seems to have a good understanding of much of the content on the GRE, but needed some help with specific questions types commonly found on the GRE. We talked about different ways to approach each of these subjects and alternative ways they may show up on her test. I will be sending her another diagnostic to practice, and some vocab words to study for our next session. We will also do a geometry review during our next session."
"Today we reviewed the math practice set that the student worked on involving functions, slope, absolute value and quantity comparisons. We also covered simple and compound interest questions. For next week, he will read the geometry section, do the practice math set I will send, do another verbal assessment test and either write one essay or do three outlines for essay prompts."
"The student wrote a fantastic practice essay that was an improvement from her last one. We then discussed various math concepts and did practice problems to apply these concepts to questions. We spent time reviewing greatest common factor/least common multiple, right triangles, exponents, and square roots. We concluded the session by adding a new set of vocabulary words and writing practice sentences to aid retention. I'm seeing improvement in her confidence with math problems."
