Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Since the student had her final the next day, we spent this session reviewing a few Spanish concepts. I first had her practice the irregular verbs for the Present Indicative tense with a few worksheets. She seemed to have the conjugations memorized well. I then had her practice the Present Perfect tense with double verbs. We reviewed a list of verbs. I would tell her the verb, and she then would tell me the verb in the Present Perfect tense, and the adjective as well. Lastly, I had her practice the Imperfect versus Preterite tenses with a couple of passages. At the end of the session, she felt more confident in recognizing when to use each of these tenses in a passage."
"* The student and I worked on her online review site in preparation for next semester. * We reviewed/compared/contrasted the geographical, cultural, political, literacy, poverty rates of each of the Central American countries. * We listened to several online conversations about Costa Rica, taking notes, comparing notes. * I helped her hear and understand the conversation spoken by a native speaker."
"We worked a lot on the vocab for her final, because her teacher said that that is what they should focus on. So we went through the words, and I tried to give her ways to remember them. She didn't know them all but was starting to catch on. One page in particular needed the most work. We also went through the final review guide that her teacher provided. It went pretty well but needs some work. I told her to make sure she's studying the vocab (possibly reviewing it everyday) since that's what the teacher told them."
