Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I had a productive review session for his upcoming exam. We went over the uses and conjugation of the subjunctive, formal and informal commands, uses of por and para, and question words. We went over a few specific items that he should memorize prior to the exam. I think he is well prepared and his hard work should pay off tomorrow!"
"This is part 1 of the student's midterm exam studying sessions. We will cover all the material from the first semester of her Spanish class. We began by going over her teacher's study guide, we outlined the most important sections to cover. The student needs to focus on preterite/imperfect and formal and informal commands. We will cover those topics in all three sessions. We also covered other basic sections from the beginning of the text today, such as the differences between ser/estar, gustar verbs and others. We also dedicated time to studying stem changes in most conjugations."
"Since the student has his Spanish final tomorrow, we spent the whole session preparing for it. The teacher provided a study guide for him, and I highlighted the most tricky topics for him to allocate extra practice. I set up some grammatical examples for him to understand, along with irregular-verb conjugations for memorization. At the end of the session, I wrote on a sheet of paper every step necessary for successful memorization and mastery of otherwise troublesome topics. Since he currently has an A-, we wanted him to be prepared to either maintain his grade, or raise it, rather than lose it to a B+. Overall, the session went great, and he has confidence for his final tomorrow."
