We reviewed the student's word cards and created on index cards. She did well with them. We then worked on her CVC words from her school. She had trouble with the following words: rot, bus, and mid. I wrote them on her index cards and also assigned some practice in her tablet. We practiced the sentences with the word "out" from her school. We also worked on the factors of 8. Then we did a writing exercise where I asked the student to write about a time when something unfair happened. She had to write about it from 3 different perspectives. At first, she was unclear how to write from different perspectives, but once she understood the directions she did the exercise. Her writing is coherent, but lacks specific details. We will work on this in coming sessions. Finally, we read from a book I checked out from the library, and she wrote down the new words she was learning in her vocabulary notebook.
