Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We completed the student's last packet for her geometry review. We also went over her course selection sheet for high school and we went over what classes she wants to take."
"In the last session with the student, we reviewed the major topics in her biology coursework that will be tested. She had a firm grasp of the topics. We also reviewed her geometry coursework and worked through several problems. She did well on most of them but had some issues with the final two problems. After I went through the final two questions with her, she felt pretty comfortable that she could solve this class of problems."
"Covered Pythagorean Theorem, basic trig relationships, and algebra review. Made good progress through her course. It shouldn't take long for her to finish it."
"I assisted the student with his Algebra II homework, which consisted of solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula. He did a very good job today! He was able to solve all of the problems correctly and was able to finish his homework early!"
"The student and I went over the Pythagorean Theorem today. Since it had been awhile since he had seen squaring and square roots, I gave a brief lecture on their meanings. I made a table for him of the squares of each number from 1 to 20. I explained that this table can be used to recognize if a number has a solvable square root."
"In preparation for the student's geometry test on Monday, we reviewed the law of sines and graphs of trigonometric functions. He was already very comfortable with the law of sines and with manipulating trigonometric functions. We went through the practice problems, particularly for problems of rotation and graphing. After a few graphing examples, he became much more comfortable with sine and cosines graphs. He was also able to do complicated rotation problems that I gave him for extra practice."
