"Today, we covered acids, bases, [H+], [OH-], pH; pOH in preparation for the student's test. She originally had questions going from pOH to [H3O+], for instance, but as we did many practice problems with these conversions, she quickly mastered it."
"I met with the student before her chemistry test. We went over the combined gas law and the ideal gas law. We also talked about the units and conversion for volume, temperature, and pressure. We worked some problems on a worksheet and her study guide, and the she asked about some conceptual questions, which her teacher usually puts on the test. I used a gas piston analogy to explain the combined gas law (what happens to the pressure if the volume is decreased at a constant temperature?, for example), and I think it helped her understand the concept. We also worked a few stoichiometry problems with the volume of an ideal gas (22.4 L/mol at STP), and she did really well on these problems."
"We completed an extra-credit worksheet that covered stoichiometry and limiting reagents. The student seems to have a much better understanding on the top now than she did at our initial session."
