Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed different forms of the equation of a straight line, solving quadratic equations, and word problems related to these. We also reviewed graphing quadratic equations. The student has a geometry test tomorrow. She is now quite well prepared."
"We reviewed elements of angle- and triangle-related proofs and some of the easy tricks for computing transformations (reflection, translation, rotation, and dilation). I can see the student is becoming more comfortable with the material and is able to assess problems quicker and communicate his reasoning more clearly. For next session, I will prepare more practice problems for next week as well as a review sheet of the important concepts he has learned so far."
"We reviewed for a quiz. We covered how to answer trig questions, find angles, etc. We also covered how to work through trig identities and prove that the two sides of the equation are the same. We reviewed trig identities and also how to solve sin (A+B), cos (A+B), etc. We worked through how to break a value down into an A+B format as well as how to solve the problems. The student's question mainly was how to figure out the values to use given information about where the angle was. So, we reviewed how to figure out the angles, a lesson from a few weeks ago."
"We reviewed for final exam. I gave the student some resources to look at for her studies. I would suggest revisiting parallel lines and the types of angle pairs formed. Also, I encouraged her to determine what she will need to know how to construct on the exam. A meeting is tentatively scheduled for Monday."
"We reviewed for the student's final exam. The topics included equation of straight lines, slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines, parallel lines and transversal, isosceles triangles, factoring quadratics, complementary angles, supplementary angles, vertical angles, proofs, and solving linear equations."
"We reviewed for the student's Geometry retake. She did not remember many of the problems she had been capable of the week before, but she bounced back well. By the end of the session, she could do all of the problems. I left her with lots of notes and some step-by-step guides to problems."
