Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed trig functions and growth/decay functions. Her main struggle is applying this information to word problems or problems where deriving an equation may be required. This can be resolved with practice."
"The student and I went over basics/advanced methods on derivatives. He was positive. No extra practice was left. "
"The student and I went over critical points and relative max and min. This is not a topic she has learned yet, so I am very glad we were able to review it, as it will keep her ahead of her professor. We specifically learned how to set derivative equal to zero and obtain critical points, test points between each interval, and determine whether each critical point was a relative max, relative min, or neither. We then took this and applied this to graphing. I showed the student some of the symbols and important parts of this graphing method. As always, we went over factoring and basic algebra as a reinforcer!"
"The student and I went over derivatives of trig functions and taking the limit. We also went implicit differentiation and finding the equation of a tangent line. We also solved for x after taking the derivative of special trig functions. We briefly touched up on domains of vectors and taking the derivative of vector valued functions."
"The student and I went over how to find the limit of functions by looking at a graph. They were able to recognize the differences and explain in detail. Great session."
"The student and I went over limits. We had to go over some basic topics to make sure that he understood the subject. In the beginning he was a little bit skeptical as far as if he was going to be able to learn Calculus, but after 15 min of session his attitude completely changed, and we both ended up feeling pretty confident about what his performance in his class is going to be."
