Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student's final exam for his Spanish class will involve an essay regarding the relevance of poetry in modern literature. In preparation for his exam, he had two assigned readings as well as a chart/graph based on a survey of literature readers. We read through and translated the assigned readings and started to outline his final exam essay. We agreed that if he emailed a copy of his draft essay, I would review it and provide feedback."
"We covered basic grammar on chapters 1-3 from the student's book. He was prepared and has a very good understanding of the topic. We discussed expectations and what he hopes to accomplish in future study sessions. He was very well organized and needs minimal assistance. I look forward to working with him and hope to help him accomplish his goal in his studies."
"Today we conducted an initial assessment about the student's strengths and weaknesses in Spanish; we covered basic sentences, orthography and pronunciation. He is having difficulty primarily with pronunciation, although it is too early to determine which other topics are also affected at this time. His attitude is excellent, he is a very pleasant young kid, smart and very capable of absorbing new material. I included some methods involving photographic memory, analytics in time and space to create more familiar interactions with his memory, and material already learned. I saw a couple of previous tests and scores, which had a couple of corrections made by his teacher. I noticed that some corrections were made to questions that were actually correctly answered by the student. This particular issue makes me think that his teacher is not 100% reliable."
