Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we played a game of mine, in order to practice finding irregularities, rhyming, shapes, numbers, letters, and more."
"We reviewed, corrected and completed the student's math and social studies homework; social studies led to a discussion of economics."
"A personal statement was written, ideas formed, edited, and finalized. College applications were also reviewed and a plan created to submit applications."
"This session we covered mostly circuit analysis. The student struggled the most with KCL and KVL. He was eager to solve first before completely understanding the concepts. To help him understand the concepts, I would try to ask questions and let him find some of the answers on his own. There were enough problems left for practice and I asked him to send me some of those that he struggles with the most."
"The student needed to continue preparing for his math final. We reviewed many aspects of his study material, including probability, absolute value, logarithmic problems, and future and present value on investment questions. We also reviewed stock, bond, and annuity questions related to future value, dividends, and returns. I put together specific questions on these topics, and he got them all correct. He clearly knew the topics and concepts because I made up my own questions and he nailed them all. Based on this, I felt very confident he was prepared for this final exam. I expressed my confidence in him, and we reviewed how he should take the test. He seemed confident, and if he uses his confidence and abilities, he will get better than a 90 on this test. I was pleased with his preparation between Friday and Saturday. He was very focused, and still had a few hours to relax before the test."
"The student and I discussed a variety of grammar concepts in preparation for her quizzes this week. We discussed intransitive and transitive verbs, commas, colons, semicolons, parentheses and brackets, hyphens and dashes, and apostrophes. We worked through some examples we found online. She will email me any questions she has regarding her research paper, which is due Wednesday."
