Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we covered more vocab words and played a game which the student seemed to enjoy. We recapped numbers and the days of the week and practiced listening and comprehension of all the stories we had studied so far."
"We began with a big review of verb tenses. We reviewed how to form present, imperfect, and preterite indicative and present and imperfect subjunctive and Mallory practiced conjugating about 10 verbs (several of them irregulars). I encouraged her to study these conjugations, as they are helpful for recognizing different verb tenses and moods in context. Afterwards we discussed some sample exercises based on what may appear on her test. I wrote out sentences but left a verb in parentheses for her to conjugate. The student needed to decide if the verb was indicative or subjunctive, a present or past tense, and how to conjugate it. She did very well in recognizing whether subjunctive or indicate was needed, and really just needs to get comfortable working across different tenses. At the end of the session, I suggested that she write her own practice sentences for us to review at tomorrow's session."
"The student worked on his homework dealing with analysis of a narrative. It was a lot of new material, but he did well. I did a little test at the end, and the student did great!"
