The students have trouble with spelling. I stress phonetic spelling with each child. This works very well with Student 1. Today we covered examples of reading ACT questions. At the end of the lesson, we started incorporating the time limit more strictly in order to be more realistic about the test conditions. The best way to practice reading is to just continue reading passages.

There are just some general ideas she is having a little bit of a hard time grasping, but I think she is well on her way to figuring it out.

He is remembering more than he thinks he did, and is gaining confidence in himself to do well in the course. I see a big difference in his attitude this year toward his teacher and the material that we are going over.

Today, the student and I reviewed yesterday's lesson on direct and indirect pronouns and discussed the command forms of -ar, -er and irregular verbs, while extensively practicing the past tense of -ar verbs and decir. Today's was a good lesson, and she did extraordinarily well. As there were times where she phrased things exactly like a native speaker, it appears the language is starting to click for her.
