Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we reviewed elimination and substitution reactions. I spent most of the time explaining mechanisms and challenging the student to come up with mechanisms for completing synthesis problems."
"Today, the student and I covered anaerobic and aerobic respiration, including glycolysis, fermentation, citric acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation."
"The student and I continued our review of synthesis problems. We worked backward a problem from her recent exam as well as two from her current homework assignment. She is covering aldol formation, aldol condensation, and beta-keto ester formation in class. We reviewed these reactions as well using problems from her homework assignment. We also discussed predicting reactive sites in molecules and memorizing her reactions. She will continue to review the reactions on her own."
"She and I went over Physics problems involving kinematics. This was in preparation for an upcoming Physics exam. We also went over Algebra 2/Trigonometry problems involving operations with complex and imaginary numbers. She was very receptive, and by the end of the session, she was able to solve the problems correctly."
"She and I worked on her Physics today. They are learning Electric Force and Electric Fields right now. I use the same book as her teacher in my Physics classes, so I gave her a copy of my notes for the chapter, and we went over each section. I had homework problems at the end of each section that I had her practice after I taught her the lesson. She did very well, but we only covered one of the two chapters. She also told me that she earned 100% on her waves test!"
"She and I worked through conservation of momentum problems applied to pipe flow. She and I worked through Buckingham Pi theorem and similitude problems for her fluid mechanics course."
