Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we went over the electrostatics. She understood the concepts quite well. I do not foresee any problems in this section of her class and think she will do well moving forward."
"Student and I reviewed her last physics test and discussed rotational motion. We then solved for the moment of inertia for a uniform sphere."
"We looked over material concerning heat, in preparation for the student's upcoming exam. We discussed the nature of heat transfer, latent heat, specific heat, and the ideal gas law."
"We covered both Physics and Precalculus. In Pre-Calculus, we did a review session on functions, domain, range, and inverse functions. In Physics, we went through displacement, distance, speed, and velocity problems. I gave the students some of the tricky questions to make him well prepared for the quiz. The students looked pretty confident at the end of session."
"We covered calculating power and the law of conservation of momentum. The student struggled with breaking down the units of power. I gave her several examples, and she seemed more comfortable with the material. She also had trouble with the resolving momentum vectors and the concept of impulse. After several examples, the student was more comfortable with the material."
"We covered capacitors in series and in parallel circuits, magnetic inductance, Faraday's Law, step-down transformer calculations, and the right-hand rule as used in physics. His test is tomorrow on the subjects, and I feel he is in a much better place because of the timing of his tutoring sessions this week, and the fact that we got right to work on the ideas with a day or two before the test. We will pick up again next week."
