Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered blood types, red blood cells, white blood cell types and functions and began discussing platelets and clotting factors. The student is going to do some independent studying as well and e-mail me with any questions she has in regards to the material. She is doing great with the material."
"Today we covered: anatomy - thorax, blood vessels in head and neck, upper arm, abdomen; the nervous system - somatic, sensory, ANS; and vertebrae and structures within."
"The student completed the majority of the exam review packet. Concepts are strong, will review nomenclature."
"She and I went over Physics problems involving motion. We also went over Algebra 2/Trigonometry problems involving simplifying expressions with exponents. she was very receptive, and by the end of the session, she was able to solve the problems correctly."
"She did a great job today. We worked through, in detail, the different components of cellular respiration: glycolysis, the Krebs Cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation (ETC and chemiosmosis). We first went through her PowerPoint slides to make sure the concepts were clear, and then we worked on a review sheet. She has a quiz on cellular respiration tomorrow and a test on Friday, so we will be meeting again on Thursday. "
"She has a test on Tuesday that she prepared for by completing the Unit 2 study guide which covered topics like Dalton's atomic law, Rutherford's gold foil experiment and atomic model, Thomson's cathode ray, Bohr's plum pudding model, definitions, another chart similar to her previous worksheet, and calculating the average atomic mass. She struggled with drawing and labelling the basic particles in an atom, applying the concepts of Dalton's law, and some details when calculating average atomic mass, but overall, she did really well; she knew exactly what to do. She asked that we meet Monday instead of Tuesday next week so we can study before her exam. She's focused and motivated, and she's already started to raise her grade too!"
