Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we worked on parent functions. We completed a worksheet with info on six parents functions, including the equation, name, end behavior and whether or not the function was even or odd. He struggled with the algebra once again. His dad and I suggested that he reviews before our sessions so that he can prepare some questions before meeting with me."
"We covered frequency distributions, percentile ranking, central tendency measures, variance/SD. Understanding percentiles was challenging, but the student worked well through practice problems and came to understand it."
"We covered homework problems from chapter 3 and 4, reviewing the topics on linear regression and probability. I suggested going over some problems on her own and sending me a message if she gets stuck on a problem. I'm more than happy to clear up any confusion and check any problems she wants to try out for practice."
"We covered hypothesis testing and the sample size needed. I showed the student the formula for sample size needed, and we discussed the difference between Zinterval and Tinterval, as well as ZTest and SampTTest."
"We covered hypothesis testing under differing assumptions of independence through the student's recent problem set. We will pick up with this material in our next meeting. He is a quick study and we are making good progress in this applied stats class."
"We covered hypothesis testing, mutually exclusive and independent probability, sampling techniques, types of variables, confidence intervals, type 1 errors, type 2 errors, power, and we went over an example. The student was very focused."
