Today, the student and I had a conversation about Oktoberfest and Bavaria, a state in Germany that is famous for cultural practices like Oktoberfest, lederhosen and bratwurst. We talked about the Bavarian dialect and how it differs from the German we speak during our lesson. We spoke about other topics as well, and during the session I stopped the conversation to explain to him a different way to say what he had said. One repeated error was his placement of the word "auch" (too, also) in a sentence, so I suggested he practice that next. We also talked about verb placement, which is something to continue working on.

The student had a presentation due for class tomorrow. We went over her script. She read it to me first. I made some grammatical changes and helped her with reading inflections. She has great pronunciation. We will work on casual conversation more next time. We will work on listening comprehension. I told to watch the news on JTV because they use the most grammatically correct Japanese. This will help her learn faster.
