Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered some fraction multiplication and division in math, Spanish, the water cycle in science, and revised a couple essays. The Spanish was tough for him, much like yesterday, but he did much better. I he should do just fine. He was positive, and eager to study the science and the Spanish. I made sure to quiz him on Spanish and science with a lot of different angles so he could think about the material in a variety of ways. It was a good session. I feel he will do well on both his science and his Spanish tests. Math is going great for him as well."
"Reviewed the last session of the chapter, also the student had mentioned she wanted some review on percents. Lastly we also did some examples on a similar chapter test. After a few practice problems she did extremely well."
"Today, we covered Language Arts with a review of nouns (singular, plural, common, proper, possessive, singular possessive/plural possessive.) They struggled the most with plural possessive nouns, but seem to have gotten a stronger grasp on the others. I will continue to review until I feel it's completely mastered. Both students had great attitudes during the session. We are reviewing definitions, writing sentences that display the different types of nouns and executing review games for commitment to memory."
"I worked on writing with the student, and we focused on organizing information from a circle map to a tree map and writing sentences."
"The student and I sent our last session working ahead of her class by reviewing the volume of rectangular prisms. She was able to use the formula to answer the problems. There were a few word problems that she got need more assistance with, but with further explanation she was able to complete the problems. She is a fun young lady that is open to learning."
"We reviewed sight words via a matching game, practiced writing words, and wrote a story to create a new text (language experience). We also reviewed initial sounds /g/, /j/, /y/, /w/, and introduced U.S. coin values."
