Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Yesterday, the student and I did a review for her test. We covered many subject on shapes and bonding, and she had a great understanding. Hopefully her test goes well."
"We covered Darwin's theory of natural selection and also went over the theory and practice behind restriction enzyme analysis, column chromatography, spectroscopy, and gel electrophoresis."
"We started the session today by taking a brief quiz on chemical nomenclature as well as molecular geometry. The student appeared to adequately understand geometry as well as bond angles. Today, we discussed thermodynamics, specifically enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs free energy. Since we had already covered these topics earlier last semester, he showed a good understanding of the material, and even was able to predict my next points during the lecture. My main goal is to gradually incorporate multiple concepts into lectures so I am sure that knowledge and understanding is being retained. This is vital for the AP chemistry test which is coming up in May. We will be discussing chemical equilibrium next session."
"We covered the topics of electron configuration and periodic trends. I gave her additional information, such as Coulomb's law, to aid her in creating a unified understanding of the subject matter. It worked. She was comfortable with the material by the end of the session."
"We covered the topics of memory, wiring of the brain, and mental health in preparation for the student's final in neuroscience. She knew the material well and I believe she will do very well on the exam!"
"We covered the universal law of gravitation. We applied the law in uniform circular motion problems for satellites. We analyzed how changes to radius of orbit and a changed mass for either gravity pair object will affect the force exerted."
