"We covered factoring by grouping, order of operations and general factoring. He wasn't struggling too much with any particular topic and on most of the questions we worked on we only had to make minor adjustments. His attitude toward learning the material is great, and it's obvious that he wants to get a strong grade in trigonometry. He had a quiz recently that he felt he did well on aside from a few minor mistakes he made."
"We covered permutations, combinations and probability. I emphasized how to differentiate between permutation and combination using real life examples. Once we know if it's either a permutation or combination we can set up the problem to solve."
"We covered quadratic equations and solving them. She was struggling with converting the quadratic equation into vertex form. She was happy because she improved her math grade from an 80 to a 89.6%!"
"We covered some factoring for his Algebra 2 class. He seems pretty adept at this, and we finished the homework rather quickly. We then moved on to his Chemistry homework, where there was a bit of trouble of significant figures, but with a bit more explanation, he got the hang of it and finished the homework pretty quickly. We spent the last half hour going over some SAT problems on a practice test. "
"We covered the Law of Cosines and graphing sine and cosine functions. We covered the basics including amplitude, period and phase shift. She was good about the material we covered. She is waiting to get her grade from her last test."
"We covered the topics introducing pre-calculus. These mostly included using the difference quotient and solving piecewise functions. These were all new topics to the student, so fundamentals were applied. Solving these equations was not a problem but the simple arithmetic errors can be costly. Great session, intelligent kid. Should be great progress moving forward."
