Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I worked on the properties of triangles. We had to have a refresher course on which angles of a triangle correlate to their respective segments. From there, we discussed the special properties of an isosceles right triangle and a 30-60-90 right triangle. This led us to a discussion about the properties of sine, cosine, and tangent. He seemed to grasp this information. While sine, cosine, and tangent are not required pieces of information for the PSAT, knowledge of them will allow certain problems to be solved faster. In addition, these properties are essential for navigating trigonometry and all higher levels of math, so it will make a world of difference for him in school if he can nail these down."
"We went over all three sections of PSAT and did practice problems together, and I pointed out areas of concern or importance. I gave her studying and test taking tips and what to notice or be careful of when doing certain questions. She was struggling a little with the writing section sentence error identification and plural/singular forms, but I gave her some tips to solve those. Overall, I think it was a good session."
"We reviewed the student's diagnostic exam, covering strategies for reading comprehension, sentence completion, and math topics."
