Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We did almost entirely IR problems, some multi-source, others involving tables and then a few involving pseudo-algebra (since you in fact just need to plug in numbers!). The student should take away one point above all: on problems where someone needs to "catch" up to the other, just figure out the distance/$$ to be caught up, divide that by the units of time, and then find that different among the answers!"
"The student and I covered complex problems involving the overlap of radicals, ratios, proportions, geometry, area, or number properties. Overall, he is computationally efficient and displays conceptual proficiency as well. I recommended that he review all the problems we covered in today's session, especially the geometry problems."
"The student and I covered a few questions from her practice exam and homework. We then turned to solving quadratics and common factoring. We moved on to arithmetic definitions and basic arithmetic, covering through proportions. Next time we will cover ratios, statistics, and exponents/ radicals. Her practice exam went fairly well, but her timing is still a problem. If she can finish a larger portion or all of the exam, she is likely to see an improvement in her score. I asked her to time the practice problems that I gave her for homework this session."
