Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I reviewed a few fairly comprehensive income statement problems in order to go over some tricky concepts and common mistakes before his exam. He and I worked through problems that dealt with accounting errors, changes in principles, and changes in estimates. He has a very good handle on the accounting concepts - he is thinking about them the right way and is asking the right questions, which is half the battle."
"The student is preparing for an upcoming exam. He is focused and determined to understand the material. He completed the majority of the practice exam questions. Once he has access to the practice exam solutions, we will revisit the responses together. The biggest challenge was the problems that related to equivalent units in process costing. We will plan to focus on equivalent units as well during our next session. He is a strong math student. He is able solve the exercises based on his knowledge of how numbers relate to one another. The student's best technique is knowing the formula. When he knows a formula, he understands how to manipulate it in order to find the requested answers."
"The student and I worked on 2 online tests covering confidence intervals for a sample and then confidence intervals for a sample proportion. The student was having the most difficulty actually putting the numbers into his calculator to get an answer but we worked on breaking the problem up into smaller pieces to mitigate those concerns."
"Today we went over various problems that he missed on his first exam. Some of the concepts were probability of a sample mean, score conversion, and queueing theory. The student expressed a great amount of gratification and understanding at the end of our session. He felt confident of the material and feels that he only needs to study the formulas. I asked him to read the content on the newer material for our session tomorrow."
"We covered the student's three essays. I provided several edits that I made before we met and we reviewed those edits. His writing is excellent and most of the edits were simply to enhance what he already had."
"The student has a test on Wednesday so we went over the review questions his teacher gave him. These included binomial distributions, Poisson distributions, and decision trees. He was able to work through most of the material on his own, and I gave him links to several websites that contained additional practice problems"
"The student and I reviewed for his investments final exam. The topics we covered included: calls, puts, premiums, long positions, short positions, and intrinsic value."
