"TODAY'S LESSON: 1) The student had her test which covered subject pronouns, vowels, alphabet letters, nouns, articles, numbers (0 to 100) and math facts. She took great notes last week and was really prepared to do a fantastic job on her test. 2) I thoroughly explained the instructions and what I expected on the test. There were some sections she needed to have the format explained. After that, she quietly took her test. The very last section was math facts, and I dictated the problems with the correct math sign (+ / - / x) and then asked her to write in the correct numbers and answers to each problem. She then verbally told me these math problems with the correct answers. She finished the test, and I corrected it right away. She got 37 right out of 40 questions, which ends up being a 93%. She was totally overjoyed! This high grade tremendously boosted her self-esteem and confidence. I am so proud of her! I kept giving her "high 5's" and complimenting on what an amazing job she did! 3) We next went over how to tell time and the time phrases we had covered last week. I explained the different time periods ("a las...." / "de la manana, tarde, noche" / "en" / "por"). We discussed many exercises in her workbook. I assigned her homework for tomorrow in her workbook. The student has consistently been improving her Spanish and has been building upon all of the concepts we cover in every session. She understands what I explain to her and feels confident with her comprehension level. I see the improvements in her language skills, and I praise her so she knows she is on the right track. I am very happy with her daily progress!"
"First, we discussed what type of vocabulary the student would find useful in his workplace. I will use that information to develop lessons for future sessions. We then continued to work on learning numbers and phrases using them. We focused on telling time and on talking about dates. We then practiced discussing information for events."
"Today we reviewed a lot of what the student had learned and the homework I had assigned him. We spent the entire session working on speaking and recalling a lot of the phrases and verb usage that we worked on previously."
