Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session we completed three different worksheets that the student had due for homework. The homework involved solving systems of equations. He did well on all three assignments and worked diligently throughout the session. He needs to review simple addition and subtraction with negatives, but other than that he seems to be remembering all that we have been reviewing."
"The student and I covered the following topics including 5th-grade Math, place values with decimals, comparing decimals, ordering decimals from least to greatest, rounding decimals, and multiplying decimals. The student practiced ordering decimals from least to greatest and multiplication. The student was extremely cooperative and made progress. He was able to work the problems independently and retained what I was teaching him with some guided prompts."
"The student and I reviewed fractions - multiplication and division. I had her practice several problems and she did great. We also spent a lot of time on inequalities, all operations, with graphing. After reviewing the basics and how to graph them, we worked through several problems on her homework. By the end of the session, she was doing very well and reading the problems correctly as well as plotting them on the number line correctly. At the end, we briefly talked about perimeter and area. She had a great attitude and was able to explain the steps of the different problems she worked through."
"We worked on reading two passages (at grade level) and worked on voice, prosody and listening for what was happening in the story. The student was positive and wonderful. With practice, her fluency will increase and so will her comprehension."
"Today we were drilling addition and subtraction using games. While basic addition/subtraction seems to be easy for her, the student sometimes struggled with determining the missing parts of a number sentence (example: __ + 4 = 7). By the end she seemed to be fine with it. Next time our focus will be on number analogies."
"We reviewed 2 videos on repeated addition (multiplication) and repeated subtraction (division). The student completed online quizzes for both skills. We also identified synonyms and antonyms."
