Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished up the student's review packet with topics on compounded interest, exponential decay, and natural logarithm. We reviewed derivatives and integrals after the completion of the review packet. The student understands the material pretty well. To ensure he does his best on the exam, I told him to complete his formula sheet for his test early as a way to study and know what he normally gets wrong."
"We spent the session on finding extreme values. I helped the student make sense of his class notes and gave him more notes with more specific steps for finding critical points and using the number line. He went through several examples on his own with a little help."
"This was our final session before the student's final exam. We reviewed an AP exam worksheet that he was given. The topics were integrals as net change, absolute and local maxima and minima, and determining areas and volumes using integration. He has a good grasp of the advanced concepts."
"We covered indefinite and definite integrals. We also looked at the area of 2 curves. The student was very positive and was able to catch his own mistakes before I did. I left him with a homework problem that he will work on his own and have done by the beginning of our session tomorrow. Next, we will discuss limits and how to approach them."
"We continued studying for the calculus final exam on Monday. We worked on problems involving derivatives, some conceptual problems, slopes of tangent lines, horizontal tangent lines, velocity, acceleration, etc."
"We reviewed for the student's vectors quiz tomorrow and focused mostly on collision point problems. I asked her to redo the worksheet problems that the quiz is based off of without looking at her previous work."
