Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session we reviewed more irregular verbs and practiced formulating sentences with each of them and different verb tenses. Also, we reviewed adjectives and articles."
"In this session, we watched two videos called, "Liars" and "Introverts" to focus again on listening comprehension. We discussed the relevance of each lecture. The student is improving his listening skills and we will continue to find content that best suits his skill level."
"We continue to move forward with reading comprehension skills to help the student move toward passing the exam."
"The student completed the first section of the orange level in the master reader program. He also worked on a handwriting workbook page. He also read the first chapter of the green level Mysterious Museum book."
"The student completed the two new paragraphs assigned. We went over the two paragraphs he did. On the first, One Change, he got in a bit of a pickle, trying to make two points where the question required only one. The result was disorganized; however, we were able to cut some material and rework it into a good paragraph. He did much better on the second assignment, Three Wishes. The organization was good. Some sentences needed work, so we fixed these and discussed ways to rewrite after a first draft, and the importance of fixing these kinds of errors in testing. I have assigned him a seventh grade level long-response writing prompt requiring a standard five-paragraph essay for next week."
"The student completed writing her Pre-Primer Sight Word flashcards. She should continue to practice them at home. In addition, she should continue to practice her alphabet flashcards and writing her alphabet. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and I know she will do great in Kindergarten! She is very smart and lovable with a great sense of humor! You are truly blessed!"
