Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We did a review of chapters 1 and 2 for the final exam. It went very well and we are meeting again Wednesday to perform more work."
"The student and I formed strategies for approaching and solving complex radical equations. We also reviewed homework strategies discussed last week. We discussed the content of her recent pleasure-reading and what she thinks of the grammatical structure used by the author."
"Today's lesson focused on algebra and the simplification of radicals. We spent a significant amount of time going over the basics of simplification then spent the rest of the lesson dealing with simplifying more advanced radical problems. An important part of the lesson was also doing the reverse of the simplification and expanding already simplified radical expressions."
"Today the student and I went over the review for her final exam. She retained all of the information we went over together in the second semester very well. She then completed her final exam. She passed all parts of the exam, which means that she will pass the course! We talked about strategies for her to use next semester in order to not get behind. I am very proud of her growth over the past few months."
"I worked with the student in the subjects of Math and Reading Comprehension today. Math-We reviewed GCF/LCM, simplifying fractions, multiplying/dividing fractions. She had no issues with the material at the 6th grade level. She showed some slight difficulty with material on higher level, as expected. With practice it should easier for her. The plan is to continue to challenge her For reading comprehension, we constructed a response to an article using the ACES method. A second article was given to practice this week."
"This session focused on solving inequalities and part/whole equations. The student seemed to be comfortable with the material and asked questions when needed. The student also had some chemistry that he was working on, which we discussed briefly; most of this material was solving equations and memorization of the periodic table. I advised that he spends at least 15 minutes studying each subject daily to ensure that he is able to keep the content he has studied fresh."
