"We had a really great math session today! Math had been frustrating the student a lot, but as we covered more concepts, he realized that it wasn't him, it was just the need to review. We're making good time and I'm confident he will be able to do much better now. Almost all of our math concepts have been covered--tomorrow will culminate in geometry and permutations and then he should be on his way."

"We began tonight's session by reviewing the practice essay. Length and speed, as well as specific supporting examples are still a concern, so we will continue to do one to two practice essays a week, but I've seen good improvements in structure and organization. After discussing the essay, we spent time reviewing earlier vocabulary terms and introducing a set of new words. In addition to defining these words, I explained their connotations and had him write example sentences to improve retention. We concluded the session with various practice Math problems. For homework, he is going to begin doing five or more of these practice problems a night, making note of any ones that he finds confusing or unclear so we can review them together in our sessions. He's also going to try to write another practice essay and memorize the newest vocabulary words. "
