Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met on Sunday to continue discussing the material from her online course on infinite series. The main topics we looked at during this session were the alternating series test, the ratio test, the limit comparison test, and an introduction to power series. We went through several slides and online notes and worked through the example problems. I think that the student is feeling better about the material than she was before our session. We will continue to work through the power series material during our next meeting on Tuesday, and we can either continue working through the examples in her online materials or find online problems of our own to work through."
"The student and I met to discuss integration methods in calculus. She had several practice problems to work through and felt like she had a good handle on the material. I checked her work as she progressed and urged her to memorize the integration rules."
"The student and I met to go over topics related to the eigenproblem and its impact on differential equations. He's now got the mechanics down pat and should be able to apply them to most of the common situations for the final! We'll stick to our regular schedule next week, and I appreciate his patience."
"The student and I met today for our regularly scheduled session. She told me that her test was moved to Friday, so we continued prepping."
"The student and I met today to do factoring. We particularly focused on factoring sum and differences of cubes. She could easily do the work once she knew the formulas and practiced a little."
"The student and I met Tuesday evening to prepare for his Algebra test the following day. He had a practice exam, which we used as a guide. I was able to help him understand factoring higher-order polynomials a bit better. I'm glad to hear that the catching up the student had to do seems to be going well!"
