I am currently pursuing my PhD in clinical psychology, and I tutor children, teens, and young adults in the areas of psychology, biology, and writing.

Entertainment is a very important part of my life. Some of my favorite things to do include playing & watching sports, writing TV/movie scripts - as well as watching them, performing and watching stand-up comedy, and listening to music - as well as making the occasional (awful, but fun) rap song. Because of all of this, I strive to bring entertainment to tutoring - if you have an interest in sports, I will relate learning and the academic subject itself to sports. The same goes for any of your interests - I will bring out the fun in them. Learning should not be a tedious chore, it should be a fun, enriching experience. For the same reason you can probably recite your favorite movie line-for-line, but can't seem to remember when the Magna Carta was signed: We tend to be much better at remembering things we enjoy!

I graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, Health, and Society. I received a minor in Global Health. While at Cornell, I was a teaching assistant and also spent time tutoring young men for their GED exams and fellow students in Biology and Chemistry. I currently tutor various subjects, but feel most strongly about Biology. I also find that I enjoy tutoring for MCAT preparation, as I understand how difficult the process can be, and wish to help others in the way that my own MCAT tutor helped me.

I am a graduate of Troy University where I double majored in Political Science and Communications Studies. After completing my undergraduate degree, I moved to Chicago where I received a masters degree in teaching. I am currently a full-time special education teacher on the Southside of the city. I am passionate about literature, english, and history. I enjoy making science come to life for my students. There is no better way to master a subject than by immersing yourself in it. I believe education should be equitable and exciting. Educators who demonstrate a thirst for knowledge have the ability to inspire lifelong learners. I am a recent graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and received Bachelor's of Sciences in chemistry and physics. During my years in university, I was not just a tutor, but a peer mentor to students, where students and tutors were encouraged to establish a mentoring relationship to help students adjust and succeed in college. While I tutor in a broad range of math and chemistry subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring general chemistry/AP Chemistry and calculus, because both subjects will help students understand that science is more than a series of dry facts to memorize, rather a process of understanding the physical universe. In my experience, helping students make sense of the fundamental concepts in calculus and chemistry leads the students to achieve remarkable progress and have the most fun. I believe that education leads to not only a deeper understanding of the world, but a better appreciation of life, which is something I want to show to all my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading about space, baking, and watching movies.

I grew up in Kansas City, but decided to leave my comfort zone, and attend college in Texas. I graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with minors in Spanish and Chemistry. I am applying to Dental School and hope to one day become a Dentist like my Mother.I enjoy working with kids of all ages and learning abilities. I find it rewarding to share my interests with others. My favorite subjects are Biology and other Human Science courses because I think it is very interesting to discover how our bodies work.I like to introduce a topic slowly, so that it doesn't seem daunting. I also like using real-life examples so the topic is understood and not just memorized. I am an enthusiastic, friendly person who enjoys dancing, crafting, watching sports and spending time outside with friends, in my spare time.

I am a pre-Occupational Therapy student majoring in psychology with minors in neuroscience and art. I will be graduating with honors from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in May, and I will begin Washington University School of Medicine's Doctorate of Occupational Therapy Program this Fall. My academic pursuits have made me confident in my abilities to tutor those pursing degrees in social sciences along with those pursuing careers in health care. Currently my favorite subject is neuroscience. I fell in love with it after I started college and I plan on specializing in neurorehabilitionation as an occupational therapist.I have many years of experience working with children of all ages and abilities in many settings, including previous tutoring. I also have many years of experience working with children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. These experiences have provided me with skills to develop individualized plans to help individuals achieve their goals. I have had much success when applying these skills to my tutoring plans. I have also used and developed these skills further in the research I have conducted on promoting independence in adults with Autism and early intervention programs for children with Autism. My individualized interventions in both research projects resulted in increased fine motor skills in children (increasing their independence in daily cares) and successfully preparing adults for independently working in their community. These skills are also utilized in my other job at an assisted living facility for nonverbal adults with Autism.I am very happy and willing to help anyone of any age reach their full potential and pursue any goals they possess.Contact me personally for weekend availability. I believe that learning occurs best when topics can be connected to student's own innate interests or hobbies. Everyone has the ability to learn and comprehend a subject only if given the right tools and the best environment. Being a student I understand the struggle to learn new subjects, skills, and software. This year alone I have learned two new coding languages, two new game engines, and three new art software. My philosophy is even if I may not know the problem or understand what is the solution immediately, I can work tirelessly to find the best answer.
