I like learning anything new and enjoy reading, but I'm not fond of school. I made good gradesonly when the subject interested me. However, I have always done very, very well onstandardized tests, probably because I read so much. I was a National Merit finalist and myLSAT score was in the 99th percentile. In today's system, that is about a 174. I attended lawschool at the University of Houston, graduated, passed the Texas bar with a decent score of 83,and practiced law for a long time. I quit practicing law when I moved to a small town in CentralTexas.I began tutoring about a few years ago and discovered that I truly enjoy the intellectualchallenge of tutoring and the opportunity to interact with a lot of bright, hard-working students. Ihad never tutored or taught before, so I read lots of study guides and picked out suggestionsand tactics that made sense to me. I look for multiple ways to illustrate concepts becauseeveryone understands information differently. My work with students is based on myexperience, what I have studied, and feedback from my students. I think that tackling a problemdirectly is usually faster than looking for a trick or shortcut.I also help students with their applications and enjoy tutoring in writing and similar topics.

I am going to start undergrad at MIT in the fall of 2022 with the aim of majoring in linguistics. I have tutored elementary and middle school students in violin for four years, in addition to casual tutoring in history, writing, and languages. More important than helping my students reach the right answers is helping them ask the questions that will lead them to answers. I learn best when I find an aspect of the subject I'm studying that I'm passionate about, so I try to help my students find curiosity for the given subject. I enjoy tutoring violin, writing, and math the most.

Born in the Pacific NW with a passion for many things including reading, Shakespeare, history, geology, writing, botany, ecology, cars, swimming, and music. Educated at Beloit College in Wisconsin (BA) and Indiana University (MA). I have extensively traveled within the Continental United States with brief stays outside the country in Europe, Canada, Mexico, Central Mexico, and the Caribbean. I'm classically trained musician and singer who worked as controller for a multi-million dollar private company. I now spend my spare time writing poetry from the heart and running a local car club. I reside in the enchanting state of New Mexico. I am often found under a hood of a car or traipsing in wilderness areas looking for wild herbs, studying geological formations and enjoying nature. I can also be found on FaceBook dispensing years of advice to younger generations and teaching students of all ages on various subjects.

I am a graduate from UCLA who majored in Biology and minored in Global Health. During my time at UCLA, I tutored student athletes in math, history, physics, and many more subjects. My passion from teaching was clear after I was able to see my students succeed in their college level courses. I have a lot of experience tutoring all ages of students from elementary school to college. Even in high school I was a tutor helping middle school students with pre-calculus. Right now, I am tutoring elementary school students in math, reading and English. I have all the materials ready for your elementary school student to start and improve right away! I motivate younger students by getting them excited about the content, and each of my students look forward to their sessions. I will be starting medical school in the fall, so my expertise lies with most premed courses, as well as English and Reading for personal statement writing help. I am strong in all subjects encompassing math: algebra, pre-calculus and calculus. I am an individual who truly believes that tutoring provides the extra help necessary for any student to succeed in what they put their mind to. With just a little help, only you can explore what you are truly possible of achieving. To me, there is nothing better than building a student's confidence on a subject they were not as strong in!

I am a passionate student who upholds the philosophy that all who can teach must know how to learn. I don't believe there is any correct way to learn; knowledge is amorphous. Therefore, my mission is to immerse myself in rigid information and transform it into fluid knowledge. I hope to gift what I learn to others through teaching.

Im currently an undergraduate bioengineering student at UIC minoring in economics and set to begin graduate work next fall. Before transferring to UIC I attended Augustana College and pursued degrees in physics and environmental studies. I hold excellent interpersonal and math skills and am good at explaining as well as doing math problems which in my opinion is somewhat of a rarity among science and math teachers. Throughout my youth I coached a swim team and have always gained an immense satisfaction from helping others. Tutoring is a win-win situation for both parties. The student becomes fluent and develops interest in a subject they have struggled with in the past and I gain from helping them improve and succeed. I like to make learning fun and strive to make the information relatable to my students. This way we can become excited about the subjects which makes learning that much easier. Mostly I am interested in tutoring math and math-related subjects including economics. Throughout sessions I will always try to convey exactly how important it is to learn the information, because like it or not, even if the student is not interested in learning, I want to convey that in life we often are forced into tasks that are not always enjoyable. Whats important is to persevere and understand that there is no other option but to complete the task or learn the material and we can only gain from giving it our best effort. During free time I enjoy reading The Economist magazine, playing table tennis and badminton, and eating Thai food. Thank you for your time.

I am a PhD candidate in the field of English Literature, so I am a lifelong student, scholar, and writer. I have taught and tutored all age students, at a variety of preparedness levels. My role as a teacher is to provide the information each individual student needs, at the right time, to succeed.I am also a chess player, a cello player, and an ultimate frisbee player. I graduated from a liberal arts college (Carleton, near Minneapolis), which means that I experienced a tradition that values student perspectives and seeks to bring each individual to a conceptual space where (s)he can achieve by objective standards.I also believe very strongly that a teacher's primary obligation is for the safety and welfare of his/her students. This clear sense of my technique, my role, and my responsibility prepares me to help teach literature, critical reading, and essay writing in ways that create clear, safe opportunities for learning.

I believe every student is capable of performing at a level they can be happy about. The important step between where they are and where they want to be is figuring out the best way for them to understand the material on an intrinsic level rather than a cursory one.

I am a sophomore at Villanova University pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences in Biology. I've been tutoring now for a total of five years starting in high school and continuing through college. In high school, I participated in an ENL program (English as a New Language) which sparked my love for tutoring. I went to an elementary school and help students (Grades K-6) with their homework in reading, math science, etc. I became close with many of the children and watched them grow as students and as people throughout my four years of being there. I wanted to continue tutoring in college which lead me to join a club at Villanova called RUIBAL. Through RUIBAL I was able to again help younger children with their homework, specifically with their reading. Through zoom, I would sit and read with the students, helping them with big words and understanding the story's main idea. While I can tutor in many subjects, I am drawn to the subjects of English (specifically reading comprehension)and Science and helping with test prep. I have also recently become EMT certified so I have fresh knowledge of the subject and how to pass the exam. Education is a major part of my life however, in my spare time I also enjoy traveling (especially to National Parks), skiing, and volleyball.
