GMAT Tutoring review by Caroline in Pflugerville, TX
The student is working on a biology project analyzing plant growth when using sugar water. I helped her plan out her procedure and gave her tips on finding background information. That's what we will be working on tomorrow.

GMAT Tutoring review by Breahna in Pflugerville, TX
I had prepared some more problems for the student to work on both in chemistry and algebra. She did really well on the chemistry section. I still want to spend some more time on linear equations because this section is going to keep coming up throughout the rest of this year and future years in math. I gave the student a practice test on the cell cycle and we went over what she missed and she felt really confident about the material for her test tomorrow. For geometry we went through more sample problems with triangles. She's doing well with this material so I gave her a much harder problem to work on over Thanksgiving break.

GMAT Tutoring review by Luke in Pflugerville, TX
We discussed the differences and similarities between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Then we went into more depth on each of the cellular structures found in bacteria, plant and animal cells. These included the cell membrane, cell walls, nucleus, nucleolus, ribosomes, rough ER, smooth ER, golgi body, vacuoles, mitochondria, chloroplasts, and the cytoskeleton. We paid particular attention to how they relate to each other and DNA directed protein synthesis.

GMAT Tutoring review by Derek in Pflugerville, TX
Topics: Recap percentages from last session, exponents, assorted algebra problems, common geometry topics and problem types, counting problems Progress: This session was very similar to the last session. We covered math topics the entire time, and were able to sort out smartly which topics to spend time on and which to skim. The student does appreciate having the step-by-step instructions available, so I will not automatically leap to examples, like I planned to. She does not need a lot of time learning the theory, but she likes to have it as a foundation. The next session will probably be the last one dominated by math topics, so that we can spend time on the essays and if necessary, the verbal sections. This was overall a very good session. I will review my original plan before the next session to make sure that we are not missing anything or getting off course somehow.

We reached book 10 in the second series and reviewed previous material since there was a break of a week between sessions. We again worked on difficult words for the student to decipher like was/saw, etc.

GMAT Tutoring review by Jonathan in Pflugerville, TX
The student and I covered a couple of questions from his practice reading comprehension passages. We then turned to sentence correction, covering subject-verb agreement, verb tense, and parallelism. He is familiar with many of these issues, so we concentrated on learning the indicators for identifying the issue on a given question. I assigned SC 1 and 1s and additional reading comp, and asked him to complete quant 1.
