Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on two homework packets, both reviewing the two major types of relationships, directly related and inversely related. He worked on multiple problems that practiced the set up of both types and then also worked on joint variation relationships and a combined variation relationship. He had no trouble setting up and solving the homework problems on his own not did he have other difficulties with the material."
"Trig subs, partial fractions. The student has a good grasp of the material, and the problems we worked today were particularly long, challenging and tedious. He is getting better at being explicit in showing his work."
"We performed all trigonometry problems today. The student mentioned she worked with trig last year and it shows! She seems fairly comfortable with all 6 trig functions; the main concern for her right now is just keeping the negatives straight."
"Today, we went over using limits to find the derivative and finding limits when you have to simplify the expressions first. He was struggling a bit today with simple algebra (when you were allowed to cancel, what to do when you have a radical, etc.), so I will need to give him more problems with that type of simplifying to help him regain his algebra skills."
"The student and I worked through chapter 6 section 1 today. First, we reviewed the definitions of absolute min and max. Then, we worked through a few examples together. Then, we transitioned over to a few homework problems. She is doing a fantastic job in her class and got an A on her last exam!!! Keep up the good work!"
"The concepts covered were the chain rule, product rule, and quotient rule in differentiation as well as finding the derivative of a natural log. Also, in integration, we covered integrating fractions. The student showed great interest in and understanding of the materials covered today. All in all, the session was a good one."
